Webster’s Dictionary defines handmade as an item made by hand or by a hand process. It was first used in the early seventeenth century. Other definitions include the aspect of craftsmanship and imply that a handmade item is typically of higher quality than one mass produced by a machine.
In fact it is right there in the definition, handmade is defined by the Google Dictionary as being “made by hand, not by machine, and typically therefore of superior quality.” Whereas handcrafted is defined as “made skillfully by hand.” That is the important difference.
One of my creative works is knitting – it is a process in which I find inspiration and find joy in life and satisfaction for what I have done.
When the soft knit touches the body, pleasant sensations arise, which are complemented by the loving thoughts woven into each stitch. That’s how I create my World around me. It gives me joy and confidence to share my labor of love with other people. I am for natural materials, so my knits are made only from natural yarns – wool, cotton or a combination of both.
The soft cotton or warming wool touch of my knitted sweaters will bring your body into a state of well-being.
On the other hand, the unique property of knitwear – air/energy permeability will help maintain the best natural micro climate for your body. All my knits are handmade with no knitting machine involved.
The other thing of my heart is sewing clothes, which has become my labor of love from a seemingly boring activity in childhood. I sew, guided by my own thoughts and my modeled cuts, so each of my clothes is unique, you won’t find another like it in the whole world. My products are handmade because they are far from mass production and each one is unique. In sewing, I use only natural materials – 100% linen, cotton or their combination, because our motto is: “We believe that natural materials will also make your world cleaner!“
I am very happy that my clothes are appreciated by buyers – both in the warm summer weather, choosing cotton and linen tops, dresses and sweaters, and also in the cool and windy Danish winter days, dressing up in warm and pleasant woolen socks, gloves, hats and woolen sweaters.
